Building Animodules

International Peace Ambassadors

In partnership with the distinguished Barat Foundation that created Animodules and with Durian, a prominent Nigerian NGO, we launched a pilot collaboration between students at urban Uplift Academy High School in Newark, New Jersey, and students at Imafon Community High School in rural Akure, Nigeria.

Whimsical plywood representations of non-violent super heroes, three-dimensional Animodules stand tall and feature unique designs by local students. Given free rein to inform designs with ten words that convey their values, students independently named three of the same words: Love, Loyalty & Unity.

One side of each Animodule displays the other Animodule so that both represent Akure and Newark.

Dubbed “Newark’s Ambassadors of Peace” by U.S. Senator Cory Booker, Animodules are now international peace ambassadors.

The statue of peace is already receiving visitors. We are so proud of it.
